Today we read The Very Busy Squirrel by Nancy Tafuri and Goose and Duck Find a Pumpkin by Tad Hill. I had a difficult time finding a second squirrel book that I liked. So, as I introduced Goose and Duck Find a Pumpkin, I asked the children to concentrate on the illustrations as well as my words. I explained that in the book there was something that reminded me of a squirrel and THAT is why I choose the book. Within the book is an illustration of one acorn sitting on a tree stump. And you know what … they picked that baby out!
For our song we sang Owl Went Who Who — I don’t know where I found this song! And for our craft we made an acorn collage. (check-out Dad making his own acorn! love it <3) Happy Fall!
