Burnham Bunch: Happy Halloween

Halloween storytime today … We read What is Halloween by Harriet Ziefert and The Spooky Wheels on the Bus by J. Elizabeth Mills. Then we sang a rousing rendition of Horns, Fangs, Knees and Claws found here from Jbrary (the wee folk loved it so much, we sang it twice!) For a craft today, we ‘painted’ a ghost using a shaving cream/glue mixture and completed it with a howling mouth and googly eyes. Happy Halloweeeeeeen!

Burnham Bunch: Pumpkins

Fall time = pumpkins! Today I shared Pete the Cat Five Little Pumpkins by James Dean and Pumpkin Day! by Candice Ransom. I used our flannel board for a little Jack-o-Lantern mix-up game via Rain Makes Applesauce .. which is super-fun and guaranteed to get tons of giggles. We ended the with a little Pumpkin Chant found via Jbrary (loved this one!) And, finally our craft of the day was a little paper-bag pumpkin painting.
