Burnham Bunch: Pumpkins

Apples last week .. and this week PUMPKINS! We started off reading It’s Pumpkin Time by Zoe Hall and Plumply, Dumply, Pumpkin by Mary Serfozo. We got a bit silly with our flannel board, as we tried to figure out just what type of top, nose, eyes and mouth makes up a jack-o-lantern. Then on to crafts! Found a really fun idea for mess-free painting on Pinterest. Super-fun and glad we tried it out. The kiddos like to feel the squishy texture of the paint without get their hands all mess … And the best part? Clean-up is a breeze!

Here is a glance at our Happenings … What is the saying about the best laid plans?! Well, this week we scheduled some activities, only to find that I scheduled them on school early-release days. So, just storytime for this week! But, the next few weeks are chock-full of programs.

Burnham Bunch Storytime : Storytime and craft for Preschoolers on Wednesday and Thursday from 10:30 – 11:00

Burnham Girls

Today we decorated pumpkins. I found a million  non-carving ideas on Pinterest. I printing some for inspiration. My favorite few the donut pumpkin, tie-dyed ‘jack-o-lantern’ and a dripping glass look-a-like (although it may take weeks for the thing to dry!). The girls are so amazing, so talented, so kind to each other. Really a pleasure to have them all … I look forward to all the rest of our meetings!
